3 Ways to Grill with Olive Oil

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Summer is officially here and that means back yard BBQ’s galore.  We’ve compiled a few easy ways to incorporate your tasty oils and vinegars into your grilled meals so fire up that grill and be the season’s Grill Master!

3 Easy Ways to Grill with Olive Oil

1.Grilling the Perfect Steak

Steak can be tricky, especially on the grill.  You can’t leave it too long, unless your guests like to chew on shoe leather.  My favorite way to grill is to brush the steak with our spicy Harissa Olive Oil on both sides and then season with our Campfire Steak Rub.  Let that sit covered in the fridge for an hour or two (turn it once while marinating).  Place the steak on a hot grill and sear for about 4 minutes.  Turn it over, and depending on how well done you like it, continue to grill for another 5-10 minutes.  Let it sit for a few minutes after removing from the grill before cutting into it and serve!

2. Grilling Salad

One of my favorite summer meals is grilled salad — yes it sounds weird but it is oh so tasty and you barely have to do anything!  Take a head of romaine and a head of radicchio and slice each in half.  Drizzle with Garlic Olive Oil and Lemon Balsamic.  Season with salt and pepper to taste and place on the grill, flat side down.  Cook about 5 minutes, until there are grill marks and the lettuce becomes wilted.  Flip over and grill another few minutes.  Remove from the grill and rough chop and mix the greens.  Top with fresh tomatoes, avocado, shrimp or anything else. Use your favorite combos of oils and vinegars to create your favorite dressing.  Super easy and no dishes!

3. Grilling Seafood

Salmon is one of nature’s superfoods but cooking it can sometimes be a challenge. My favorite way is to drizzle a little Meyer Lemon Olive Oil or Blood Orange Olive Oil over it and then sprinkle some of our NorthWest Salmon Rub, Ras El Hanout rub or Spicy Caribbean Rub over the top. I grill it on foil (less cleanup later) and let it cook for about 5-6 minutes with the lid down.  Serve with grilled veggies and you have an easy and healthy meal ready in minutes!
